Live Sessions and Recordings
All DataTalks.Club zoomcamps are built around pre-recorded lectures with occasional live sessions. The cadence and number of live sessions vary per cohort and per course. The exact schedule for the current cohort is on the course management platform.
Two kinds of live sessions happen during a cohort:
- Office hours: the cohort lead and instructors answer questions and walk through tricky topics from recent modules.
- Workshops: deep-dives on a specific tool or topic, often delivered by a guest instructor or partner. See Workshops.
Where they happen
- Stream on the DataTalks.Club YouTube channel.
- Recordings are added to the cohort-specific YouTube playlist as they happen.
- The link to each live stream is announced shortly before in the course Slack channel and on the course Telegram channel.
- No Zoom link, no separate webinar tool, no signup. Just open YouTube at the scheduled time.
Time zones
- Most live sessions are at 17:00 Berlin time (CET / CEST). Occasionally 12:00 noon Berlin time.
- US time zones: typically morning. Asia-Pacific: typically evening or night.
Asking questions live
Two formats are common:
- YouTube live chat: type questions; the host or co-host reads them out.
- Slido or similar Q+A tool, with the link announced at the start of the session.
If your question is not answered live, post it in the course Slack channel after the session as a thread under the relevant topic.
Recordings
- Available immediately after the stream ends. YouTube keeps the live broadcast as a regular video on the channel.
- Added to the cohort’s YouTube playlist.
You do not need to attend live to be in the live cohort. Watching the recording later does not change your cohort status.
