Using AI tools
Our community is for humans. It is okay to make mistakes, to be unsure, and to be wrong. That is what learning looks like, and we welcome it. We would rather see an honest human answer with a mistake than a polished AI response.
This is not the place for bots or AI-driven conversations. We do not welcome accounts that operate as AI agents or that use AI to communicate on someone’s behalf.
It is okay to look up an answer with an AI tool, whether that is ChatGPT or anything else. What matters is that you are explicit about it. If you asked an AI, say so, for example “I asked ChatGPT and here is what it suggested.” Then add your own understanding and take responsibility for what you post.
What is fine:
- Looking up an answer with an AI tool and being explicit about it, such as “I asked ChatGPT and this is what it said”
- Using AI as a starting point, then verifying, explaining, and taking responsibility for the result
- Making mistakes - we would rather you be honest and human
What is not welcome:
- Copy-pasting an AI-generated answer and presenting it as your own
- Posting AI-generated answers without verifying them or adding your own understanding
- Using AI to generate the bulk of your messages in discussions
- Operating an account that is driven by an AI agent or bot
AI-generated content presented as your own original work will be removed.
