Justin Ryan is a seasoned expert in cybersecurity and IT risk with more than twenty years of experience across the military, consulting, and financial services. His security career began in the U.S. Air Force as a Cybersecurity Operations Manager for AFCERT, the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team, where he honed his incident response skills as a certified operator. After nearly a decade in uniform, he transitioned to EY as a Manager of Cyber and Privacy Risk Advising, and went on to become Vice President of Cyber Risk Management at JPMorgan Chase & Co., focused on the financial services industry.

Justin also served as Director of Cybersecurity Risk Management at USAA, building that program nearly from the ground up, and has consulted for global organizations including HSBC, Cisco, Merck & Co., and Rackspace. He still works as a full-time practitioner in the financial services industry, leading the development of a sensitive data management department.

He is the co-author, with Mario Lazo, of AI Data Privacy and Protection, a practical guide to securing data and AI systems. Justin holds an Executive Master of Cybersecurity from Brown University and a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization from Northeastern University, among his five degrees. His certifications include GCIH, CISSP, CEH, CRISC, and GICSP, and he completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
