Job posting rules and templates

Channels

When making a post, make sure you select the right channel:

  • #jobs: you offer a job
  • #job-search: you look for a job
  • Job related messages from other channels will be removed
  • Messages that don’t follow the rules will be removed

Rules

  • Follow the template
  • Job must be relevant and specific (see relevant jobs)
  • Clearly specify if you’re an agency
  • No agencies for #job-search
  • Jobs should be posted with a clear link to the public job description on the website where the job is listed
  • Jobs where you ask people to DM you for details will most likely be removed
  • Please limit your posts to one post per week
  • Please read our full community guidelines

We prefer job positions that are submitted by people who are actually hiring for their own teams. If you are hiring for your team, you probably do not have more than one job to post. If you are a recruiter, or for some reason you are hiring for many positions, select one and do not post more than once per week.

Jobs without a link to the website where the job is listed look suspicious. Such postings may be deleted to keep the quality of job offers in our channel high and reduce the chances of fraudulent job postings.

Low-quality job postings

Moderators of the community can remove your job posting if they think it is low-quality content.

Examples of low-quality job offers:

  • Jobs that have nothing to do with data, AI engineering, ML engineering, data analysis, or backend-related services
  • AI editors, video editors, people who need to speak something for AI, people who need to correct things for AI, and similar roles
  • Data entry specialists. These are considered low-quality jobs and will be removed, even if you brand them as AI roles

In order of preference:

  • The primary roles we accept are related to data, AI engineering, ML engineering, or data analysis
  • It is okay to post software engineering roles, though full-stack engineering roles are borderline and could be deleted
  • Everything else, such as financial analysts for AI, AI text editors, and similar roles, can be deleted by moderators

Additionally, if we determine that a job posting is low quality, we can delete it.

Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines and whose posts have been repeatedly removed will be banned. Their account will be deactivated.

Users who violated these guidelines, whose posts were removed because of that, and who otherwise don’t contribute anything to the discussion and to the community, will be removed.

Templates

For #jobs:

<Short description of who you want>

Company: <company name>
Position: <position>
Type: full-time, part-time, freelance (optional)
Location: <City, Country> or remote within <Country/Countries> or remote anywhere
Salary: <range> (optional)

<Link to the page with more information>

<Best way to contact you>

<Anything else you want to add>

How to use it

  • Replace the <placeholders> with your content
  • Feel free to skip the optional parts
  • Make sure it’s not too long. If it’s long, give the most important information in one message, and put the rest in the thread
  • Don’t copy-paste the entire job description. Just share the link - it’s sufficient in most cases
  • Try to keep the formatting (e.g. bold fonts)
  • Don’t be sloppy and follow the punctuation rules:
    • Use “:”, not “;”
    • There should be no space before “:” and a space after “:”
  • Currently no template
  • Make sure the message isn’t too long (doesn’t exceed one mobile screen)
  • The job you’re looking for must be one of the relevant ones
