Uri Gilad is a Product Manager for Data Governance at Google Cloud, where he leads the data governance efforts within the Data Analytics area. In that role he spearheads a cross-functional effort to create the controls, management tools, and workflows that enable Google Cloud customers to apply data governance policies in a unified fashion, wherever their data lives in the cloud deployment. His work sits at the intersection of security, compliance, and analytics: making governance something that enables access and meets regulation rather than getting in the way.
Uri is a co-author of Data Governance: The Definitive Guide, the O’Reilly book that has become a reference for organizations building governance programs, and he has spoken publicly on how companies can approach cloud data governance grounded in real user research and product experience.
Before Google, Uri spent his career as an executive in data security companies. He was most recently VP of Product at MobileIron, a public Zero Trust and endpoint security platform, and earlier an early employee and manager at Check Point and Forescout, two of the best-known brands in security. He holds an M.Sc. from Tel Aviv University and a B.Sc. from the Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology.
