Sivan Biham is a Computer Vision Researcher and Algorithm Developer at Healthy.io, a company that turns the smartphone camera into a medical device. There she works on healthcare-related products end to end, carrying them from the earliest algorithm design stage through to fully implemented products used by thousands of people across the world. That span of responsibility, from research prototype to regulated, real-world product, has made her equally at home in deep learning research and in the disciplined engineering that medical applications demand.

Her academic background reflects the same blend of depth and breadth. Sivan holds an M.Sc. in computer science from the Weizmann Institute of Science, with a specialization in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, and a B.Sc. in both Computer Science and Neuroscience from Bar Ilan University. Studying brains and computers side by side gave her an unusual perspective on perception, and she puts it to work on problems where image understanding has a direct effect on people’s health.

In her daily work, Sivan emphasizes designing and implementing maintainable, modular algorithms, always with software architecture principles in mind. She strives to be an integral part of the problem-solving process in her own domain and beyond. In her spare time, she loves to run and practice yoga.
