Savaş Yıldırım is an associate professor at Istanbul Bilgi University and a visiting researcher at Ryerson University. His academic work centers on natural language processing, and he teaches NLP courses at the university, training the next generation of practitioners in the field.

Beyond academia, Savaş consults on chatbot and NLP projects for a tech company, keeping his research and teaching connected to real-world applications of language technology.

He is also the co-author, with Meysam Asgari-Chenaghlu, of Mastering Transformers, a book that guides readers through transformer-based models and advanced natural language processing techniques. Through his teaching, consulting, and writing, Savaş bridges the gap between the fast-moving research landscape of modern NLP and the engineers who need to apply it in practice.
