Orell Garten

Orell Garten’s path into data engineering started with simulation. He graduated in 2018 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, where he focused on simulation algorithms, and then began a PhD. When COVID arrived, he decided to leave academia in search of new challenges, and joined a government-funded startup program to explore how scientific research could be turned into real products.

The project did not go as planned, but it taught him what he values most: applying rigorous simulation methods to solve practical problems. Today Orell works as a freelancer in software and data engineering, building custom data infrastructure for clients. He brings a problem-first mindset to that work, favoring minimal viable products over perfect solutions and validating assumptions with lightweight experiments before scaling them up. That combination of scientific rigor and pragmatic engineering is what sets his consulting practice apart.
