Ning Wang has spent his career in the middle of large-scale streaming data. As a key contributor to Apache Heron on Twitter’s Real-time Compute team, he helped evolve a system built to process enormous volumes of events in real time. He remains an Apache Committer and serves on the project management committee for Apache Heron, helping guide the direction of one of the open source world’s most battle-tested stream processing engines.

Today, Ning applies that experience at Amplitude, where he works as a software engineer building real-time data pipelines that need to be fast, correct, and dependable at scale.

He is also the co-author, with Josh Fischer, of Grokking Streaming Systems, an example-driven book that gives engineers an intuitive understanding of how streaming systems work. Together, his open source work, industry practice, and writing make him a trusted voice on real-time data processing.
