Nasser Qadri is an engineering manager and applied AI leader based in Zurich. He started his career at Google in the New York office as an AI Engineer before transitioning into a new role that brought him to Switzerland. His path through some of the most demanding data organizations in industry has made him a practical voice on what the AI engineer role actually looks like day to day.
Before his current role, Nasser held data science leadership positions at Quest Diagnostics, Deloitte, and Gallup, working across domains such as healthcare, the public sector, and national security. Leading data science in those environments taught him how to build applied machine learning under real constraints: privacy, regulation, high stakes, and messy data.
Nasser’s background is unusually interdisciplinary. Before moving into industry, he completed a PhD in Politics and International Relations at the University of Glasgow, and his work ever since has combined social science research methods, data science, and applied machine learning. That blend of social science rigor and engineering practice shapes how he thinks about AI systems and the people and institutions they serve.
