Dashel Ruiz Perez is a data analyst, ML engineer, and educator based in Oregon, USA. He spent nearly a decade at Microchip Technology, where he moved through production, process, yield, and software engineering roles and got a firsthand view of how semiconductor fabs actually run. That hands-on production experience became the foundation for his career in analytics.
Working in yield analytics, Dashel learned to translate manufacturing problems into data science projects, from automating engineering calculations to building models for yield optimization and predictive maintenance. He deepened his machine learning expertise through degrees in computer science and data analytics from Western Governors University and as a graduate of ML Zoomcamp, combining formal study with community-driven learning.
Today Dashel teaches programming and data skills at major U.S. universities through ThriveDX, helping career changers build the same technical foundation he did. His own path, which started far away from tech, makes him a relatable guide for anyone transitioning into machine learning, AI, or data analytics.
