Aleksey Komissarov is a genomic bioinformatician with more than 20 years of programming experience and a PhD in Genomics. His career has been spent turning biological data into knowledge: sequencing analysis, genomics pipelines, and the computational tooling that modern life science research depends on.
In recent years his focus has shifted to the human side of AI. From 2024 he co-teaches Programming in Natural Language, a course taught with Claude as a voice co-instructor, exploring what it means to program in plain language and how AI changes the way we learn and build software. He has also published research on AI literacy and cognitive resistance to AI disempowerment, examining how people actually adopt, avoid, or push back against AI tools.
A self-described vibe coding practitioner, Aleksey builds things at the intersection of science, software, and human-AI collaboration. He shares his experiments and writing at soulnerd.com and lives in Berlin.
