Vladimir Haltakov

Vladimir Haltakov is a self-driving car engineer with deep experience in machine learning and computer vision. Working on autonomous driving means teaching computers to perceive the physical world reliably enough to make decisions, and that environment has shaped his engineering judgment: rigorous evaluation, healthy skepticism about model performance, and a strong preference for solutions grounded in real data.

Vladimir is equally passionate about the learning side of technology. He loves helping people learn new things by explaining complicated topics in a simple, accessible manner, and he believes the best way to learn is by building. That philosophy carries through his educational writing, where he encourages practitioners to get hands-on with machine learning instead of only reading about it.

He is a co-founder of Bnomial, together with Santiago Valdarrama, and co-author of Everyday ML Questions. The project takes a different approach to machine learning education: rather than long courses or exams, it helps people build lasting knowledge through a steady habit of answering practical ML questions, one small step at a time.
