As Chief of Data at Platanomelón, Tammy Liang leads data for a mission-driven consumer brand that empowers people to break taboos on sexuality. Together with her team, she infuses data analytics into the company’s day-to-day operations and decision-making, showing what a strong data culture can look like outside the usual tech company setting.
Tammy built the data function from the ground up. That meant making deliberate early hires, starting with an analyst and then a data engineer, and assembling a practical stack with tools like Stitch, GCP, dbt, and Data Studio. She has led work on demand forecasting and time-series modeling, moved models out of notebooks toward production, and driven adoption across the business through workshops, question-and-answer sessions, and steadily earned trust.
She shares these experiences and more as co-host of the Data for Future podcast, where she interviews people working in data and sustainability to curate a community for open conversation and collaboration.
