Sergei Shaikin is the CTO at Artillex, a UK-based fintech startup, where he combines strategic leadership with a rich hands-on background in data engineering. His career spans leading data engineering teams, leading the delivery of data products, and staying close to the technical work itself, an approach that keeps his decisions grounded in engineering reality. He is a Microsoft Azure Certified Architect, bringing deep cloud architecture expertise to the systems he designs.

Sergei is also the author of a book on Apache CarbonData, the open-source, high-performance, scalable storage format, which reflects his long-standing interest in the storage and processing layers that modern data platforms are built on.
