Sean Sheng leads the engineering team and oversees product development and technical innovation at BentoML, working on the tools that help machine learning teams serve and deploy models reliably in production.

Before joining BentoML, Sean was a Senior Engineering Manager at LinkedIn, where he led multiple teams developing the service frameworks and infrastructure that powered all of LinkedIn’s distributed service architecture. The scale of that infrastructure is staggering: three geographic co-locations running a quarter million service instances, supporting every infrastructure team and product line at LinkedIn. Building frameworks that thousands of engineers could depend on taught him what production-grade distributed systems really require.

Sean has spent over ten years in the cloud infrastructure space in both individual contributor and leadership roles, giving him perspective on everything from low-level systems design to org-scale engineering strategy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
