Rui Machado is VP of Technology at Fraudio, where he leads technology for the company’s data-driven products. With a background in Information Technologies and Data Science, he has spent his career building the data platforms that organizations rely on for analytics and decision making.

Over more than a decade, Rui has designed and implemented data warehouses, data lakes, and decision support systems across a wide range of industries, including retail, ecommerce, supply chain, healthcare, and social networks. He has led engineering and analytics teams at global companies such as Jumia, Nike, and Facebook, giving him first-hand experience with the organizational and technical challenges of scaling data platforms. Alongside his corporate work, he is the co-founder and CEO of ShopAI.co, bringing AI-powered solutions to ecommerce.

Rui is also a published author. He collaborated with Syncfusion on three technical books covering PowerShell, SSIS, and BizTalk Server, and is the co-author, with Helder Russa, of Analytics Engineering with SQL and dbt, an O’Reilly book that teaches analysts and engineers how to build meaningful data models and trusted metrics with modern tooling.
