Rosona Eldred came to machine learning by way of mathematics. After finishing her Ph.D., she moved from the US to Germany in 2012 as a postdoctoral researcher and stayed, eventually moving from academia into the data space, where she has now worked for six years, the last three of them with industrial data.

Today she is a machine learning engineer with a technical leadership role around synthetic tabular data in an AI Innovation team. Her particular passion is industrial R&D: data generated by production lines, pilot plants, sensors, and long-running quality tests rather than millions of web events. That world means tiny datasets, destructive quality measurements, and decades-old historical experiments, and it demands statistical thinking, transfer learning, and close collaboration with domain experts.

Her rare combination of mathematical depth and industrial pragmatism makes her a distinctive voice on small-data machine learning and the realities of running ML in manufacturing.
