Raphaël Hoogvliets leads a team of twelve engineers at Eneco, a leading sustainable energy company delivering energy to around two million households and businesses. As an MLOps leader with a background in data science and machine learning engineering, he is recognized as much for his leadership and team building as for his technical depth.
His career arc is an unconventional one: he moved into data science and MLOps from agriculture, and that route through different industries now informs how he approaches machine learning in a sector as critical as energy.
Raphaël is also one of the more recognizable voices on MLOps in the data community. On LinkedIn and his Substack newsletter he regularly shares lessons that range from CxO-level strategy to beginner-level coding. In his public talks he covers CI/CD for ML, reproducibility through data versioning and experiment capture, model monitoring, and the organizational patterns, such as platform teams and tech translators, that help machine learning actually get adopted.
