Manoj Kukreja is a Principal Architect at Northbay Solutions, where he designs complex data lakes and data analytics pipelines for large-scale organizations, including banks, insurance companies, universities, and US and Canadian government agencies. Over a career spanning more than 25 years in IT, he has delivered data lake solutions on every major cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud, guiding enterprises from legacy architectures toward modern, cloud-native analytics.

Previously, Manoj worked at Pythian, a large managed service provider, where he led the MySQL and MongoDB DBA group and supported large-scale data infrastructure for enterprises across the globe. That experience running mission-critical database systems continues to shape how he approaches reliability, performance, and cost in distributed data platforms today.

He is the author of Data Engineering with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse, a book that walks readers through building modern lakehouse architectures and explains how they compare with designs such as lambda and kappa. Beyond his day job, Manoj trains groups of aspiring data engineers and data scientists on Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and data analytics on AWS and Azure.
