Magdalena Kuhn is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at BMW. She works on building, operating, and scaling a machine learning platform, the foundation that allows teams across the company to train, deploy, and monitor models reliably. In her role she pushes and spreads MLOps principles within BMW, bridging the worlds of data science and platform engineering so that machine learning projects can move from experiment to production without friction.

Magdalena did not start out as a platform engineer. She began her career as a pure data scientist, and transitioned into a machine learning engineer role during her previous job at Delivery Hero in 2020. That journey gives her an unusually complete perspective: she knows what data scientists need from a platform because she has been the user, and she understands what operations require because she now runs the infrastructure. She credits this combination of data science and DevOps knowledge for her ability to advocate effectively for MLOps practices.

Outside of work, Magdalena loves both exploring vibrant big cities and enjoying calm, picturesque places in nature, a balance that mirrors her professional life between fast-moving ML experimentation and solid, dependable operations.
