Loïc Magnien is the Lead Data at Mylight150, and his career covers more than a decade in the data space across a rare breadth of roles: database management, data engineering, product owner, tech lead, data architect, and data lead. This background lets him see data platforms from every angle, from the pipelines that move raw data to the stakeholders who depend on it.

He started on the hands-on side, working in IoT data engineering on challenges such as sensor data aggregation, structural health monitoring, and ETL automation for logger ingestion. That foundation evolved into strategic architecture responsibilities: cloud platforms with Python and Azure, lakehouse design with bronze, silver, and gold layering, data modeling that aligns cross-functional teams, and tools like dbt for building reusable ingestion and transformation pipelines.

Loïc is also a regular contributor to the data community. He previously gave a DataTalksClub talk on building a data lakehouse and later returned as a podcast guest to discuss the journey from IoT data engineering to leading data architecture, including hiring for data teams and balancing hands-on work with leadership.
