Konrad Banachewicz is a lead data scientist at eBay and a Kaggle Grandmaster, one of the highest competitive ranks in data science. He holds a PhD in statistics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and his career has spanned a variety of financial institutions, where he worked on a wide array of quantitative data analysis problems.

Working across these domains taught him the entire lifetime of the data product cycle, from raw data and early prototypes to models that must hold up in production, and he is known for a pragmatic, statistics-first approach to machine learning.

Konrad is also a co-author of The Kaggle Book, in which he shares the competition techniques and workflows behind strong, reproducible data science practice with a wider audience.
