He has over 10 years of professional experience in computer science, with a background in Information Technologies and Data Science and a lasting focus on evolving and maintaining data solutions applied to decision making. He leads the engineering work that turns raw data into reliable, well-modeled datasets for analytics across the business.

Since 2018, Hélder has also been a co-founder and data architect of ShopAI, a company specialized in deep learning that leverages the capabilities of images to optimize search channels inside webshops, bringing research-grade computer vision into production e-commerce.

Hélder is a co-author of Analytics Engineering with SQL and dbt, an O’Reilly book written with Rui Machado that shows data teams how to build meaningful analytics layers with modern tooling.
