Carmine Paolino is the CTO and a co-founder of FreshFlow, a startup building a grocery retail operating system designed to cut supermarket food waste. Under his technical leadership, FreshFlow helps retailers forecast demand and place just-in-time orders for fresh products, evolving from early computer vision experiments into an ordering and inventory forecasting platform piloted with grocers such as Edeka and Volg.
Before founding FreshFlow, Carmine worked as a programmer and researcher in academia and data science. He met his co-founders and raised funding through Entrepreneur First, and has since led the company through pilot programs, product roadmapping, and hard-won infrastructure decisions, including moving from Kubeflow to managed Google Cloud Platform services.
Carmine regularly shares lessons from startup life, covering customer discovery, prototype-first validation, hiring, and the technical tradeoffs of scaling an early-stage company.
