Barr Moses

Barr Moses is CEO and co-founder of Monte Carlo, a data reliability company backed by Accel, GGV, Redpoint, and other top Silicon Valley investors. Monte Carlo pioneered the category of data observability, giving data teams a way to detect, alert on, and resolve data quality issues before they break analytics and machine learning. Her work focuses on eliminating data downtime, the stretches of time when data is partial, erroneous, missing, or otherwise unreliable.

Barr’s path to founding a company runs through operational leadership at scale. As VP Customer Operations at customer success company Gainsight, she helped scale the company 10x in revenue and, among other functions, built the data and analytics team, an experience that put her squarely in the shoes of the data teams she now builds for. Before that, she was a management consultant at Bain & Company and a research assistant in the Statistics Department at Stanford.

Her analytical foundation runs deep and early: Barr served in the Israeli Air Force as a commander of an intelligence data analyst unit and graduated from Stanford with a B.Sc. in Mathematical and Computational Science. That combination of military-grade operational discipline, statistical training, and hands-on data leadership makes her one of the defining voices in data quality and reliability.
