Arman Jabbari

Arman Jabbari is a Staff Data Scientist specializing in marketplace design, leading Airport marketplaces at Lyft. Airport rides are a demanding corner of a rideshare marketplace, and Arman’s work focuses on the systems that balance rider and driver experiences in that environment, applying operations research and data science to questions of matching, efficiency, and design.

He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley, training that shows in how he approaches problems. Colleagues know him for excelling at challenging established assumptions and redefining traditional approaches: questioning why a marketplace behaves the way it does before accepting that it must, and using data and models to find designs that work better for both sides of the network.

For teams working on marketplaces, pricing, or matching problems, Arman combines rigorous academic foundations in industrial engineering and operations research with the practical judgment of a staff-level data scientist operating one of Lyft’s most visible marketplaces.
