Anastasia Karavdina is a particle physicist turned data scientist. She began her career in fundamental research, working on large-scale experiments at the Large Hadron Collider, where the enormous event volumes and demanding statistical analysis shaped the rigorous approach she still brings to industry problems today. That experience also made her a strong advocate for research software engineering practices, such as version control and CI/CD, in data science work.

Moving into industry, Anastasia worked at Blue Yonder, scaling AI-driven solutions for global supply chain giants, and at Kaufland e-commerce, where she focused on NLP and search. Across these roles she has translated the multivariate analysis and statistical thinking of particle physics into production machine learning, from supply chain forecasting to natural language applications.

Beyond building systems, Anastasia is a dedicated mentor for ML and AI, helping her mentees define and reach their goals. She is passionate about growing the next generation of data science talent in Germany, from data analysts up to ML engineers, and regularly shares advice on career transitions, interview preparation, and mentorship itself.
