Alex Chung is a product leader who has spent his career at the intersection of machine learning, data infrastructure, and trust and safety. His first job out of college was building MLOps infrastructure at a quantitative hedge fund, an experience that grounded him early in the operational realities of taking models beyond notebooks and into production systems.

He went on to hold senior product management roles at some of the largest technology platforms in the industry. As a Senior Product Manager at Amazon SageMaker, he worked on AWS’s managed machine learning service; at Facebook, he focused on Data Operations; and at Lyft, he led product work on Account Security, protecting users of a platform operating at massive scale.

Today, Alex runs industry working groups on MLOps, where practitioners exchange lessons on deploying, monitoring, and maintaining machine learning systems, and he builds open source tools for the ML community. His background across hedge funds, big tech, and marketplaces gives him a rare end-to-end view of what it takes to make machine learning actually work in production.
