Agnes van Belle is a Data Scientist at HeyJobs, a Berlin-based scale-up focused on intelligently targeting talent for jobs and vice versa. She studied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam, and her career has focused on the systems that connect people with the right information: search, recommendation, and the experimentation infrastructure used to improve them.

Before HeyJobs, she worked at OLX Group, the online classifieds platform, where she built a large part of the company’s internal A/B testing framework and used it daily while developing and testing solutions for search and recommendation. Further back, she was the Search R&D team lead at Textkernel, an Amsterdam-based company that applies parsing and ranking to match CVs with vacancies.

Agnes is an active voice in the search and machine learning community, having spoken or served as a panel member at Berlin Buzzwords, ECIR, ECML-PKDD, and Haystack Europe. Her main interests are representation learning, NLP, information retrieval, and statistics, and she brings an experimental, measurement-driven approach to building data products.
