Dr. Adam Sroka is the Head of Machine Learning Engineering at Origami Energy, where he helps organizations unlock value from data by delivering enterprise-scale solutions and building high-performing data and analytics teams from the ground up.

His route into data leadership was anything but linear. A Physics PhD led him into data science and reinforcement learning, and later into consultancy, where he worked on business intelligence, dashboards, and client workshops. That mix of deep technical training and hands-on client work now shapes how he approaches machine learning strategy: designing KPIs that prioritize real impact, avoiding vanity metrics, aligning metrics top-down with a North Star, and translating model performance into time and money saved for the business.

Adam is also a regular voice in the data community. He shares his thoughts and ideas through public speaking, tech community events, his blog, and his podcast, covering topics such as measurement culture, operationalizing metrics with dashboards, and rigorous experiment and model validation, from A/B testing to backtesting and uplift.
